Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was pretty good, but then again I am a Harry Potter fan. For those that aren't you may not have liked it. The one thing I was disappointed about was the soundtrack. All the Harry Potter films have distinct sound and this one didn't. So that was a bummer. But all in all it was a good flick.

The chemistry between Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in this movie is undeniable. Based on a true story this one is interesting. A Texas congressman goes in with the Afghanistan government to do battle with the Russians. Things start going his way and he receives national recognition for what he is doing. The list of actors and actresses is great. Philip Seymour Hoffman gets a special thumbs up for the sarcasm and dry humor he always brings. I really can relate. Four stars.

No Country for Old Men was scary! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Javier Bardem is one of the most intimidating men I have ever seen on the big screen. Tommy Lee Jones as always gives his dry humor to the movie, I like the guy. Josh Brolin as a Vietnam Vet made me wonder a little, but once he started kicking some ass at the end, I was convinced. Five Stars.

"Reservoir Dogs"
This movie is without a doubt one of my favorite movies. To say the least, it's about armed robbery and everything that goes along with it. The list of actors is phenomenal, not excluding the fact that Quentin Tarantino wrote, directed, and acts in the movie. The plot is just too hard to explain. I guess you will just have to watch it!

"Cinderella Man"
Russell Crowe is having a good year. As an Australian actor, all his movies are making me want to move to Australia, just to check it out. Cinderella Man is about the Great Depression in the United States during the thirties. Renee Zellweger is a really convincing actress, I just don't think she pulled it off. The plot moves you up, down, and all around.

"Adaptation"
This has got to be one of the most bizarre and inspired movie scripts ever written. All the actors do a great job but the story is something else. The story keeps folding inwards on itself as the movie becomes the writer trying to write a movie that is an adaptation of a book. Nicholas Cage plays 2 twins with opposing characters. Chris Cooper plays a Orchid Hunter and Meryl Streep plays a writer who is writing about the strange world of these orchid hunters. This is a must see for anyone interested in movie writing or just a fantastic story. I'm slotting this into the Top-10.

"Into the Wild"
Director Sean Penn brought his A-game for this one. It had me on the edge of my seat. The performances of Emile Hersch, Hal Holbrook, Kristen Stewart and last but not least, Kathrine Keener are fantastic. This movie is dramatic and mildly disturbing. Those with timid eyes might not like it. In conclusion, 5 Stars!

"American Gangster"
Denzel Washington will get my nomination for best actor. Russell isn't quite ready yet. As an Australian actor, he hasn't reached the genre of the Americans yet. He will though. Let's not forget the fantastic performances of Josh Brolin, and Tip Harris (the new comer). Chiwetel Ejiofor has always been a good actor, he just hasn't gotten the recognition. In summation, this movie gave me chills, literally! 100% thumbs up!!! This is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

"The Prestige"
"Blood Diamond"
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors. This movie is an absolute emotional rollercoaster. I almost broke down into tears twice throughout the duration of the movie. Jennifer Connely has done some light stuff since her fantastic performance in "Labrynth" as the star of the show. She does a great job as the "hard to get" reporter on a mission to expose the illegal diamond trade. Djimon Hounsou steals the show at certain points that sent chills up and down my spine. I give this movie five stars, thumbs up, and whatever goes along with those!

"Spiderman 3"

"The Departed"
Jack Nicholson delivers his most impressive performance ever, in my book. He is followed up by two performers, Vera Farmiga and of course Leonardo DiCaprio. Closing the show is Mark Walberg who I wasn't quite sure about. All in all, I liked this movie very much! Intense and heated moments take control. Alec Baldwin was perfect for the role he plays. The cast and crew pulled it off!
