"Cinderella Man"

Russell Crowe is having a good year. As an Australian actor, all his movies are making me want to move to Australia, just to check it out. Cinderella Man is about the Great Depression in the United States during the thirties. Renee Zellweger is a really convincing actress, I just don't think she pulled it off. The plot moves you up, down, and all around.

"Adaptation"

This has got to be one of the most bizarre and inspired movie scripts ever written. All the actors do a great job but the story is something else. The story keeps folding inwards on itself as the movie becomes the writer trying to write a movie that is an adaptation of a book. Nicholas Cage plays 2 twins with opposing characters. Chris Cooper plays a Orchid Hunter and Meryl Streep plays a writer who is writing about the strange world of these orchid hunters. This is a must see for anyone interested in movie writing or just a fantastic story. I'm slotting this into the Top-10.

"Into the Wild"

Director Sean Penn brought his A-game for this one. It had me on the edge of my seat. The performances of Emile Hersch, Hal Holbrook, Kristen Stewart and last but not least, Kathrine Keener are fantastic. This movie is dramatic and mildly disturbing. Those with timid eyes might not like it. In conclusion, 5 Stars!

"American Gangster"

Denzel Washington will get my nomination for best actor. Russell isn't quite ready yet. As an Australian actor, he hasn't reached the genre of the Americans yet. He will though. Let's not forget the fantastic performances of Josh Brolin, and Tip Harris (the new comer). Chiwetel Ejiofor has always been a good actor, he just hasn't gotten the recognition. In summation, this movie gave me chills, literally! 100% thumbs up!!! This is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

"The Prestige"

This movie was extremely dark, goes in and out of the real world of magic, and it's history. Phenomenal performances by Piper Perabo, Scarlett Johansson, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, and Christian Bale. David Bowie and Andy Serkis are the ones that surprised me! They both play the part perfectly.

"Blood Diamond"

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors. This movie is an absolute emotional rollercoaster. I almost broke down into tears twice throughout the duration of the movie. Jennifer Connely has done some light stuff since her fantastic performance in "Labrynth" as the star of the show. She does a great job as the "hard to get" reporter on a mission to expose the illegal diamond trade. Djimon Hounsou steals the show at certain points that sent chills up and down my spine. I give this movie five stars, thumbs up, and whatever goes along with those!

"Spiderman 3"

Spiderman 3 took awhile to get its plot sorted out. After the story finally gets rolling about halfway through the story, the comic book pacing starts to make sense. A variety of criminals and plot twists come together that is at the least entertaining.

"The Departed"

Jack Nicholson delivers his most impressive performance ever, in my book. He is followed up by two performers, Vera Farmiga and of course Leonardo DiCaprio. Closing the show is Mark Walberg who I wasn't quite sure about. All in all, I liked this movie very much! Intense and heated moments take control. Alec Baldwin was perfect for the role he plays. The cast and crew pulled it off!

"Memoirs of a Geisha"

This movie is absolutely amazing! Ziyi Zhang gives the performance of a lifetime. Thanks Ziyi.

"Breach"

Breach is fantastic! The crew and cast were done perfectly. A closer look into the C.I.A. for any of those that are watching. To make a long story short, I loved it!

"Fracture"

This movie was really dark! I thought that Sir Anthony was spectacular. The only person that outshined him, was Ryan Gosling. This guy is from Canada, and absolutely amazing. There are rumors about that he was dating Rachel McAdams for a short time. After seeing their performance at the MTV Music Awards, I believe it!

"Number 23"

This movie was scary. It is a true horror flick. I don't know what else to say... Continued on: Jim Carey is fantastic!

"Inside Man"

I justed watched "Inside Man" last night starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster. The title seemed familiar and I thought I'd already seen this 2006 movie. I had clearly let this one slip under my radar. Inside Man takes the bank robbery movie genre into new and exciting directions. This plot driven movie has a host of great actors. None of the actors really shine in their own right. The intriguing story is the true star of this flick. http://www.insideman.net/index.php

"We Own the Night"

This movie was a little weak I thought. Phoenix and Walberg together though, what a combo! The plot was sort of lame, and I didn't think they gave Eva Mendes enough face time. All in all, three stars.

"The Queen"

Helen Mirren is a classical actress from London. She gave one of the most spectacular performances that I have ever seen. Mad props Helen!

"Knocked Up"

This movie was absolutely insane. I personally thought that it was amazing. Child birth is one of the hardest things to do. If I could explain it, I would probably be a millionaire.

"Eastern Promises"

This movie grabs you down low and shakes you around from the start. From its life size violence to its vibrant characters Eastern Promises is a movie of flavors. The flavors range from the Russians mob, depicted in lavish colors in the Russian mob bosses restaurant and then less delicately in his sons brothels, to the sweet house of a young nurse, played by Naomi Watts, who stumbles her way into the lives of these mobsters, to the streets of London where these contrasting worlds collide. The story of Eastern Promises is a cohesive unveiling of what lies in the depths of the hearts of a variety of criminals as they struggle with an implosion of dilemmas. We learn about the criminal minds of the mob boss at the top, his young flagrant son who assumes that he will get the crown someday and their employee who is stoically pounding his way into a position of greater and greater importance. Each criminal is starkly different from each other in their motivations yet their fates are twisted together as each one struggles to survive the difficulty drama they are entrenched in. The unfolding of the story reveals the bitter truths about these criminals in a beautiful explosion of flavors, tastes and aromas. In summary, the movie was good.

"Bobby"

This was personally one of the best movies I have ever seen. I thought the acting was incredible! The cast of stars goes on for miles, A-listers!
